Kingston is known for its riverside pubs and young, vibrant atmosphere. The presence of Nandos and Wing Stop perhaps tells the tale of a town with a university and college. Finding somewhere good to eat in Kingston is a challenge, mainly if you prefer a good sit-down meal instead of fast food. Where is the best burger in Kingston though? Well, we have tried some great burgers in and around Kingston, and some bad ones. Here, we will share some of our favorite hot spots at Cheeseburgerme.

The Best “Fast Burger” in Kingston

Can Five Guys get better looking than this, London has the best Five Guys!

I refer to a fast burger as something you can grab and go. It is hard to look past Five Guys as one of the best burgers in Kingston, period. But, being able to put together your own toppings and sauce makes Five Guys a great option for most. The price, however, is slowly rising. For \ full stack cheeseburger with bacon, it will set you back a good £11 plus. When you add fries and a beer to your meal, you are looking at a pricey £20 plus. We do love Five Guys though, you can check out our review.

Farm Fresh is a small business located out by the university. I only came across Farm Fresh after driving out that way once. It is pretty tricky to get to if you are driving, as there is nowhere to stop due to the parking restrictions near the university. But Farm Fresh produces some fantastic burgers. The Giant Burger in our Farm Fresh review was fantastic. Homemade sauces infused with their secret herbs and spices add a real kick to their burgers. Farm Fresh are also very capable of creating “off menu” burgers. If you are one of those people that like a bit of a surprise then you should request a chef special from them, I guarantee they will amaze you!

One of The Best Alternative Burgers in Kingston

Poor Boys in Kingston has been a hot topic among the local community for a few years now. When I first found Poor Boys in Kingston, I remember the feeling of crazy excitement, almost like I had just found gold. The restaurant is a New Orleans-themed joint that has everything on the menu from shrimp to pork. After two years, I have tried everything on the menu at Poor Boys in Kingston, except the shrimp, regrettably. But, the look of the fried shrimp has made me question the urge to try some and just deal with the anaphylactic shock thereafter! The sauces are impeccable and if you like hot sauce then I would advise trying the Voodoo Reaper. Poor Boys is a busy place, however, and during the summer you could find yourself waiting for up to an hour before you can even get in the door, sometimes two. You can check out my review on The Cochon Poor Boy if you like.

When is The Best Time to Eat in Kingston?

Kingston is a busy place on the weekends, especially during the summer when the pubs fill up on the riverside. For us real die hard foodies, during the week is the best time to grab a few dishes in Kingston. The marketplace has some pretty nice places where you can warm up on a couple of snacks. A notable mention for Pho Real, one of the market stalls in Kingston that serves Vietnamese dishes. I would class their Pork Baguette as a great alternative to a burger. The meat is phenomenal and could sit squarely against a Poor Boys offering, only at half of the price!
